Descriptif de l'employeur

The French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE) is a public research establishment bringing together a working community of 12,000 people, with 268 units of research, service and experimentation, located in 18 centres throughout France. INRAE is a world leader in agricultural and food sciences, plant and animal sciences. Its research aims to build solutions for multi-performing agriculture, quality food and sustainable management of resources and ecosystems.

Descriptif du service

You will be working in the “Metabolism, Quality and Adaptation” (MOQA) team of the joint research unit “Avian Biology and Poultry Science” (UMR BOA), led by Cécile Berri. This team aims to generate knowledge in the fields of physiology and genetics, and to contribute to the development of sustainable breeding systems integrating animal health and welfare (AHW) for quality food. The recruitment will take place within the framework of the new European Partnership for Farm Animal Health and Welfare (EUP AHW Partnership). You will support the contribution of INRAE, which is coordinating one of the joint internal projects (JIP) of the EUP AHW Partnership, entitled "Animal welfare and sustainability, promoting livestock systems". The aim of this JIP is to facilitate the integration of animal welfare into the principles of sustainability and agroecology for livestock farming, in particular by developing a multidisciplinary European network. It also aims to provide technical and scientific expertise and disseminate research results and innovations to European reference centres for animal welfare, notably via the French Reference Centre for Animal Welfare (CNR BEA).

Description du poste

The "Animal welfare and sustainability" JIP brings together 22 research organizations across Europe and is coordinated by Anne Collin (UMR BOA) and Alain Boissy (CNR BEA - UMR Herbivores). Under the hierarchical authority of the head of the host unit and under the functional authority of the two coordinators of the JIP, you will work in collaboration with INRAE scientists of different research units involved in the project. Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the smooth implementation of the action's work program, and to develop and maintain relations with all European partners. You will ensure the proper management of the JIP (preparation of meetings and reports, respect of schedules, etc.). You will participate in the implementation of the project's expertise and communication activities. Finally, you will work with INRAE's finance department to monitor the budget. Regular travels throughout France and Europe are expected.

Under the direction of the coordinators of the "Animal welfare and sustainability" JIP, your main task will be to manage activities, in particular:

- Ensure smooth relations with project partners and EUP AHW Partnership coordinators, in particular via the dedicated exchange platform;

- Contribute to the planning and organization of working meetings with coordinators and task leaders, and annual meetings with all project partners, and draft the minutes;

- Monitor the communication and dissemination of action information to both the dedicated partner of the EUP AHW Partnership and the French CNR BEA;

- Develop a resource platform and collect and synthesize knowledge from scientific and technical literature;

- Build and update administrative tools to monitor the work program and budget;

- Interface with INRAE's internal departments for all administrative and financial matters;

- Coordinate the production of technical and financial reports (data feedback, financial reports, administrative deliverables, etc.) for the EUP AHW Partnership coordinators.
